Time for a treat Thursday

On our way back from our Time for a treat Thursday trip, I found myself first in a screeching contest with a nine month old, and second making the most and I mean most ridiculous noises and sounds just to hear her giggle. We were out by 10:30 this morning and it was not for fro yo or a McFlurry. We decided to switch it up a bit and head to the Amish market for a soft pretzel and some other goodies. Damn- was that pretzel good- fingerlicking good. I haven't had one of those in years! I definitely won't wait long before another. The Amish market is not a good place to go to when you're hungry. Stella and I enjoyed a soft pretzel and we got Daddy some special goodies for when he gets home from work. As I strolled around the market, Stella just relaxed in her stroller...that leg if not both are always up! My hands were too good and greasy while eating our pretzel to snap a photo.

When we got home, I put Stella in her walker so I could prepare her lunch. (Whole wheat toast sticks, diced avocado and cottage cheese) She thought that she would give her modeling skills a go....

I think we may need to practice a bit more. She is so comical these days.

The past two Wednesdays we did plant ourselves in the kitchen to do a little baking. I just didn't get around to sharing them in a post. So here they are...
Last Wednesday we made these little gems....itty bitty nutella cakes. If you are a nutella fan, like me, these are a must try! So easy and yummy!  They are layers of angel food cake, and nutella, topped with cool whip and frozen to perfection!

Yesterday, we baked a treat that we hoped would tickle Daddy's fancy. He is both a toffee and cheesecake fan. Toffee cheesecake in a graham cracker crust.

Lastly, since it is Thursday...how about some throwback Thursday fun?

Cheers to tomorrow being Friday!

Time for a Treat Thursday

Okay so I honestly can't remember the last time I drove through a McDonalds drive thru, or any fast food drive thru for that matter. But something about vanilla soft serve and crushed Oreo seemed to tickle my fancy today. I felt naughty while in the drive thru. Our Time for a Treat Thursday was fulfilled with a snack size Oreo McFlurry...worth every bite of 300 calories! Yes it is empty in this picture...and I did share :)

Our main reason for venturing out in this shitty weather today was all for a diaper run to Babies r' us. Stella is a blast to walk down the toy isle with now. The colors just seem to amaze her. Since she enjoys standing up leaning on things we bought her the V Tech learn to walk. She loves it!

Stella has been going through a clingy phase lately, especially at night. Once she falls asleep she is out for the night, but soothing herself to sleep has been a challenge for her the past number of nights. A few minutes of cuddling in the glider usually does the trick. I make sure not to let her fall completely asleep on my lap because I still want her to soothe herself to sleep. I just help her get nice and drowsy. My point? Even though there are a million and one things I could be getting done, I enjoy the Stella cuddles. I enjoy her head resting on my chest and the scent of her freshly washed hair. I enjoy the sound of her breathing. I live for the moments that she is so close to me...

She cracks me up....her leg is always in the up position...

 her sweet face...

Life is good....I wish a 4 ounce bottle of milk would fill me up and I wish I looked this cozy when I ate..

Looking forward to the weekend- another no agenda weekend- WooHoo! We need some sunshine over here!

Our first week of activities was a success

We did it! Stella and I's first week of our activity schedule was a success. I enjoyed it...it gave me something to look forward each day. On Thursday I took Stella for frozen yogurt since it was 'Time for a treat Thursday'. It was warm, the sunshine was out, so I thought fro yo would be just the perfect treat. Of course Stella would of devoured the entire cup if I let her. I had captured so many cute pictures of her...(they instantly became favorites of mine- one was a clear shot of her two chompers). When we got home, my phone which I had used to take her pictures crashed-stopped working. After calling the cell phone company and doing a factory reboot on my phone, I lost everything. tear. This is the lonely picture from our fro yo trip on Thursday since we sent it to Daddy.

Friday was one of those days I could of slept in...Ha! Yea right! Stella was up at 6:00 a.m. ready to play, I wasn't. Guilty as charged, I fed her and put her back down and she slept until 7:30. Ahhh. It was raining buckets which called for an indoor activity....photo shoot! I think I enjoyed it way more than Stella :)

Then Momma built tower after tower just so you could knock them down....

A few extra thoughts...

Bath time has become one of the best times of the day. Stella has Rick and I rolling...and wiping up the floor.

grate·ful
ˈgrātfəl/
adjective
  1. feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful.

That is a word I have come to appreciate so much more. I am grateful for so many things in my life right now....the list would honestly go on and on....

but I am so grateful for my family.....these two have my heart.
