Ricky at 13 Months

I am just so smitten with this little one. He melts my mommy heart over and over again. He is 13 months old and looks more and more like Rick the bigger he gets. His baby blues and smile will light up any room. He is walking everywhere, climbing on everything, and has no fear! He has definitely gotten his fair share of bumps, bruises and busted lips thus far. His appetite has changed and mealtimes with him can be a struggle. He loves to take the food out of his mouth and throw it straight onto the floor. of course if it has ketchup on it, he makes sure to suck all the ketchup off of it before tossing it. ;) He is still a fruit lover through and through. Red grapes, kiwi and strawberries seem to be his jam lately! And his love for milk runs deep and fruit smoothies! He dislikes anything with a mushy consistency...such as egg salad, mashed potatoes, oatmeal etc. He hates having shoes on his feet and prefers to be barefoot, hates getting dressed, and having his nails clipped. He loves playing in water and jammin' out to loud beats in the kitchen and in the truck! He is currently trying so hard to learn the using a spoon to eat skill. If you ask him he will say Momma, Dada, Hot especially when he spots my coffee mug in the mornings, Ahh-Choo! when anyone sneezes, tries so hard to say Stella- you can hear the by the rhythm that he is saying her name, No-No as well as night night-nigh nigh. He gives high fives, claps, sings some of the words to Row Row Your Boat, shakes his head No, and gives the best open mouth kisses :) He makes us laugh like no one else and we love him so so much.

A Little of This and a Little of That

I am soo excited for Fall and all that comes with it. Hello??! My last post was all about pumpkin, I guess it's pretty obvious we are Fall lovers through and through. I can honestly say I am not super impressed with the Fall clothing I see yet...but I did get Stella a few of these tutu dresses. They will be perfect for the Fall since they are long sleeve and anything with a tutu is a win in her eyes! Once it gets too chilly for dresses, the colors are great and will go with cute tights!

This picture was from last night before we went to the open house for her new dance school. The girls and boys that already go to the dance school put on ten different numbers for us to watch. When the music (especially the hip hop- Stella is for sure going to ask to be in the classes where she can shake that toosh as much as she can) she lit up. I am not sure what I enjoyed watching more- the dancers or her expressions while she watched the dancers. After almost every number was over she would look up to me, smile and say "Mommy, I want to do that." ugh- melt my heart.

I try to do a face cleanse once a week. And I gave this face mask a try and fell in love. As it drys it gets nice and tight and leaves my skin sooo soft after I wipe it all off. It also has a very nice faint scent to it. Pair it with a good moisturizer once done :)

We try and get out and do fun stuff together to fill the days. But there are moments that we share inside the house doing nothing at all but sitting on the kitchen floor, giggling and being silly that kick total ass. These moments are so special and make me feel so warm inside.

Okay our kitchen dance parties are the real deal here. I have talked about them over and over! Ricky loves them just as much as Stella these days. Stella requests the same songs every single time and Ricky clearly has a few favorites as well. You can tell by his moves ;) Here is our kitchen dance party play list these days...Stella is sitting right next to me naming these songs for me to type ;)
Bang Bang
Work From Home
Marry You ---total #1 favorite for both!
Tuxedo
All About That Bass
Shake It Off
No
Call Me Maybe
What Do You Mean

The egg production from our six ladies is unreal!! They have been taking over our fridge and we can't give them away fast enough! We just gave away over 40 eggs and still have lots in the fridge. You may just find little miss Stella outside in the front yard with an egg stand ;) We have one lady who lays a double yolker every morning and the egg is huge! They are great for baking.

these fluffy butts kill me...

and....
bone jammies....why not?

The Long Awaited Pumpkin Post!!

I just opened this post to blog about pumpkin of course when I looked over in the playroom to find some little one year old grinning with a very orange grin! I have not the slightest clue where he found an orange piece of chalk but if I had to guess the tongue sticking along with the yucky face looks as if it didn't tastse so good. duhh little man- Mommy could have told you that ;) Why do littles have such the urge to eat ev.ery.thing????

I honestly can't say that I wait all Summer for Fall to indulge in the pumpkin spice flavor of just about everything! When I get that pumpkin kind of feeling I make it ;) Thank goodness for that canned pumpkin goodness! I know that I am posting this cookie recipe in September and it is now acceptable but Stella and I totally made this during the mid heat streak in August!! These are by far one of my FAVORITE pumpkin recipes. They are the softest, pillowiest-i don't think that is even a word- pumpkin cookie...i'm drooling over here just thinking about them. And an added bonus- only one bowl needed! There is no mixing the dry ingredients separate from the wet ingredients. I seriously have soo many pumpkin cookie recipes to try on my Pumpkin Everything board on Pinterest but when I go to make the new recipe I always feel they won't be as good as this recipe and end up making this trustworthy cookie!

Preheat to 350.

Cream 1/2 cup of butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar.
Add 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 cup pureed pumpkin-NOT pie filling. Combine until smooth.
Add 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg. Mix well.
Add in an 8 oz bag of semi sweet chocolate chips- I always do the mini chips :)
Drop by rounded Tbsps onto lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake for about 15 minutes. Just until lightly browned.
Let cool slightly!
STUFF YO FACE!

A few of our other pumpkin MUST TRY recipes for this Fall:

Pretty ambitious, I know! But Lord knows we have all of the eggs to make all of this baking with!!! We have eggs coming out of our ears!!

We also tried the Pumpkin Spice flavored Cheerios....total WIN!

Cheers to the official Pumpkin Season!
